Agenda Item
Discuss and approve a resolution declaring October 29, 2008, as Regional Habitat Conservation Day in Williamson County.
Background
On Wednesday, October 29, 2008, at a ceremony starting at 9:30 a.m., Dr. Benjamin Tuggle, Southwest Regional Director for US Fish & Wildlife Service, will present Williamson County with their Incidental Take Permit at Beck Preserve on Great Oaks Drive.  The permit is required for the county's Regional Habitat Conservation Plan.  The plan provides a voluntary option for entities including the County, school districts, municipalities, developers, land owners and others to more easily proceed with development plans while lessening the lengthy delays and increased costs associated with acquiring an individual permit from the US Fish & Wildlife Service.
