Discuss and consider approving a line item transfer for ITS:

Background

We originally budgeted for a part-time employee/intern to work with web development. Later we were approached by the company responsible for the Road Bonds website asking if we would develop and maintain that site for them. If not, they would be hiring an outside company and paying $50,000 whereas we can do it for about $15,000 by adding it to the intern's responsibilities. By doing that, the intern is now working over 20 hours a week. It's not a problem other than from an accounting perspective. Line item 1102 is for part time employees who work less than 20 hours a week. Line item 1101 is for part time employees who work more than 20 hours a week but less than 30 hours a week, thus the need to move the budgeted funds. The time the intern works on the Road Bond project will be tracked separately and will be paid out of funds being transferred from 409. The bottom line is the County is saving $35,000 by allowing the intern to maintain that website rather than paying the outside company.
