Discuss and take appropriate action on Moving Services Contract with Bouffard Transfer Inc to move ITS equipment.

Background

We currently have all of the equipment (servers, etc) for Odyssey installed in our primary server room in the Juvenile Justice Center. The Odyssey vendor has expressed a concern that, as the data increases on the webserver, we will experience performance issues with the system unless we move the equipment to the Justice Center and place it on the same vlan (virtual local area network) as the webserver. Because of the specialized and sensitive nature of the equipment, we are hiring a company who has the expertise to properly move that equipment and who we have used to move our equipment in the past.

The company's normal liability is limited to .60 per pound. This would limit their liability to $500 maximum for equipment that costs about $150,000. I felt like it was prudent to pay to increase their liability to cover the full replacement value. If the court would rather assume that risk we can save $1500,... but we would be risking $150,000.
