Community Specific Integrated Emergency Management Course Application

Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on the application submittal requesting acceptance into the FY2020 Community-Specific Integrated Emergency Management Course.
Williamson County continues to experience rapid residential and business growth, with this growth comes the challenges of managing complex emergencies. This course is being requested, as a part of the multi-year training program for the Emergency Operations Center Support Teams. This training course will test all aspects of managing complexed emergencies, with the requested scenario being a flsah flood.
The Community-Specific Integrated Emergency Management Course (CS-IEMC) is a four day, exercise based training activity for Emergency Operations Center personnel to practive simulated, but realistic, crisis situations, within a structured learning environment. The jurisdiction selects the hazards and core capabilies it wishes to simulate in the classroom and exercise components of the course. The design will reflect the jurisdictions specific hazards and organizational structure included in it emergency plans. Data reported in the Threat Hazard Identification and Risk Analysis (THIRA) and applicable State Preparedness Reports should be used as a basis for the course.
Currently FEMA covers the expenses of the course, round-trip airfare per student, and round-trip ground transportation. Not inlcuded is the on-site lodging and meal ticket and salaries.
