Motion: To approve and authorize the creation of the position of criminal Associate Judge pursuant to Section 54A.002, Texas Government Code, to be filled by the new (for Fiscal Year (FY) 2015) Associate Magistrate appointed by the District and County Court at Law Judges; and additionally, approve the renaming of the new (for FY 2015) Associate Magistrate position’s job title to that of Magistrate/Associate Judge to reflect the creation and appointment as an associate judge pursuant to Section 54A.002, Texas Government Code.
 

Further, to approve and authorize the appointment as criminal Associate Judges and the changing of the job title of the other current jail Magistrates (previously authorized and appointed as criminal magistrates under prior legal authority of Section 54.951, Government Code (repealed) and Commissioners Court action of October 5, 1999, Agenda Item #18) to Magistrate/Associate Judge upon any subsequent appointment as criminal associate judges by the District and County Court at Law Judges pursuant to Section 54A.002, Texas Government Code.
