Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on setting two terms for each of the Williamson County Courts at Law to begin on the first Monday in January and the first Monday in July of each year; and that each term of court continue until the next succeeding term begins (Texas Government Code §25.0016).
Background
This action is being done in order to comply with the following statute:
Tex. Gov't Code § 25.0016. Terms of Court
The commissioners court, by order, shall set at least two terms a year for the statutory county court.
History
Enacted by Acts 2011, 82nd Leg., 1st C.S., ch. 3 (H.B. 79), § 4.07(a), effective January 1, 2012.
All Williamson County Court at Law Judges are in concurrence and approve the proposed terms of court.
