Discuss and consider reallocating CDBG funds in the amount of $30,000 to pay for engineering costs for the Thrall waterline improvement project that was funded in FY11 in the amount of $195,000.

Background

Thrall was awarded $195,000 in CDBG funds to pay for the rehabilitation of the ground storage tank no. 1 at the water plant located on Highway 79, to include replacing the existing protective coating. The project will also include replacing the 1-2” water mains with 6” lines and install gate valves to assist in the insulation of the line breaks.

At this time the City is unable to pay for the engineering that is needed to begin this project. The cost for engineering is $30,000.

It is recommended that the County reallocate funds from completed projects and/or projects that are not currently using allocated CDBG funds.
