Consider and take appropriate action on a 2009 Sub-Recipient Agreement between the Texas Department of Public Safety and the County in relation to the Homeland Security Grant Program.

Background

Williamson County EMS requested Homeland Security Grant funds through the Homeland Security Taskforce (HSTF) at CAPCOG for the delivery of a regional Tactical Medic Course. The course was evaluated and approved both by the HSTF and the State of Texas as having met the criteria for regional grant funded training program. The course will be hosted by Williamson County EMS and held in Georgetown, open to regional EMS providers or other first responders who participate on specialized teams to support law enforcement tactical operations. The number of specially trained medical providers is limited within the region and this course will aid in increasing those numbers while providing standardized training to all agencies.
