Discuss and consider approving Targeted Cat Free-Roaming Spay/neuter Grant Agreement between PetSmart Charities and Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter.

Background

A grant was applied for and awarded for $48,000 to be used in a two year period to spay/neuter 1300 cats and kittens from Leander, Cedar Park and Liberty Hill. This is specifically for free-roaming, unowned cats and kittens. This is a targeted area grant to reduce the number of cats and kittens that would normally be trapped and brought to the shelter for adoption, barn placement or euthanasia. Tracking would include the numbers of cats and kittens brought to the shelter from this area as well as the out come of those animals. The grant also includes money for marketing.
