Discuss and consider approving appointments to the Williamson County ESD No. 1 Board.

Background

On January 1, 2009 the City of Austin will be annexing a portion of ESD #1, 4 out of 5 of the current board members reside in the area that will be annexed. In order to comply with the provisions of the Texas Health and Safety Code, Vernon Civil Statutes, § 775.034 the court must appoint 5 board members. These appointments will bring the total number of board members to 3 which will be enough to have a quorum and conduct business.

Adam Bryant currently serves on the ESD Board #1, he was appointed by the Commissioner’s Court on March 8, 2006, to fill the remainder of a two year term that was vacated by Johnny Bryant who moved out of district and is the only member that will remain in the district after the annexation.
