Consider approving a line item transfer for Animal Services:

Background

Several issues regarding the shelter were identified. These line item transfers will cover costs associated with resolving these issues. The identified issues were to reduce the noise level and disease transmission in the shelter. To accomplish this we will install sound baffles in the dog kennels, install some sound proofing art in the lobby, install plexi glass in between the dog kennels to prevent nose-to-nose contact between the dogs, install blinds in several areas of the shelter to help maintain the temperature and to install kennels in one of the dog isolation rooms for the large dogs. These items and fund transfers were discussed and approved by the board members at the January 18th, 2008 shelter board meeting.
