Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on approving Marathon Engineering Corporation for jail safety padding repair, in the not-to-exceed amount of $12,131.00, and exempting this purchase from competitive bidding requirements as per Texas Local Government Code Discretionary Exemption 262.024.(a)(7)(D) captive replacement parts or components for equipment.
Background
This is to provide materials and labor to repair Gold Medal Safety padding in Three cells at the jail: Cell 1, Cell VC, Cell 2. Quote Totals $12, 131.00. Only Marathon Engineering is able to provide this service due to this being a repair to a patented product.The department point of contact is Tommy Crockett.
This expenditure will be charged to 0100.1008.004510 which was approved for FY 2020.
